Julies' training in Complementary medicine began in November 1999 Whist recovering from ill health she undertook Level One Reiki tuition and the journey began, as Julie explains ..

" Reiki One gave me the ‘tools’ to take responsibility for my illness and begin my own healing journey.

Level Two Reiki was taken in March 2000, it was at that time I discovered I wanted to share Reiki by helping others. Reiki Mastership was attained in accordance with Usui Shiki Ryoho Tradition in October 2000, and further training in Original Reiki was taken to Master level with Taggart King in 2003. The satisfaction of seeing others benefit from Reiki lead me to offer other relaxing treatments, treatments that offer just a little space for the body to let go and heal itself.
My training enabled me to gain Diplomas in Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy Massage, Swedish Massage, Advanced Body Massage, Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage. For every stage of my training I am indebted to those who passed on their knowledge and skills so generously, I feel blessed to have had such good tutors.
Many other courses followed to add depth and knowledge to to the treatments I offered on what has been an incredible holistic path ".

After 25 years as a therapist Julie is now retiring from the more physical therapies and going back to where the journey began with Rieiki. Her intention is to offer others the opportunity to take the same magical path with Reiki.

Julie is now offering reiki treatments (in person & distantly ) along with Reiki 1 & 2 training in her local area.

Healing Sessions

At Lakeland Reiki we are always open to accommodating your schedule for healing sessions.

For those local to Windermere Julie is able to offer reiki in the comfort of your own home.

If you have the space a portable therapy couch can be set up in your own home. If space is limited a shorter Reiki session can be offered in a seated position. Close proximity parking is required for ease of therapy couch transfer.

For those who live further afield distance reiki sessions can be arranged at a time to suit you.

Julies' aim is to encompass mind, body, and spirit to promote overall well-being.

"My own personal experience of ill health brought me unexpectedly, but pleasantly into the field of complementary medicine. Illness in some cases can bring about change, seen as an awakening of the spirit, and a connection to understanding the workings of the inner self ....
Working with, and studying a variety of therapies has helped me to gain some understanding of the complex functioning of the human body, and its many cries for nurturing and healing on all levels.

Your Role 

Healing is a very personal experience, no two people respond the same, just as no two treatments are the same. You are the healer, as such you are in  control of your own journey.

"As a therapist I am not the healer, I'm only the facilitator for healing, the energy conduit. Any healing which comes about following a session is dependant upon how your body receives the energy and how it processes it.

A Reiki practitioner merely offers an un-conditional channelling of energy for balancing and well being "

Many people fall asleep during a treatment, others enter an Alpha state of mind ... so not asleep but not fully awake, a state of an awareness of ones whereabouts but so relaxed that noting really matters. This is a state of relaxation where the mind processes and releases and the body heals.

Some people feel heat or cold, and others see colours while others feel nothing, and that is perfectly alright as we are all attuned to to recognise energy differently, it doesn't not mean that the treatment hasn't worked or the energy has not been received. 

Following a treatment its advisable to relax as much as possible and allow the energy to continue working. Rebalancing takes effect for several days following a treatment and offers up the opportunity to really take time to listen to your body and act accordingly.
